MONDAY ON THE BOBBY BONES SHOW (10/14/13)
Hey Monday, you’re like the cousin nobody wants to see. But whatever!
RANDOM KID CODY & INTERN SARAH DOUBLE DATE WITH BOBBY
The morning started off with news that Random Kid Cody & Intern Sarah went on a double date with Bobby Bones and a “mysterious” date. Even with poking and prodding from Lunchbox, Amy, and the rest of the gang, Bobby remained mum on who he was with. Was it an old high school flame? Or some complete stranger? Who could it have been? I guess we will never know.
A newlywed man is already going to have to buy flowers for his wife. The newlyweds were in the car on the way to their honeymoon, wife sleeping in back seat, when they stopped at a gas station.
When the man took off, he drove two and a half hours before realizing his wife had gotten out at the gas station. The man had to drive back to get his wife. Fifty bucks said she wasn’t the happiest of campers!
SHOW & TELL NEWS
A coyote saved a cat from two wild coyotes. Bobby reported this, because he is an advocate for pit bulls being more awesome than viscous. A great story indeed.
A major bomb scare happened at LAX last night. Late flights, terminals closed, and cancelled trips engulfed the worried patrons. It turns out, it was dry ice in a water bottle. As Bobby put it, who does that!?
A man opened fire at a festival in Tulsa, OK. Nobody was injured thankfully but many are recovering in the hospital. Here’s to hoping and wishing they all heal quick and well.
A new study shows the new apps on your phone are twice as likely to crash if they are on the new ios7 or new iPhone 5c/iPhone5s. With new technology, there will always be problems.
PLANE SEAT MALFUNCTION & EDDIE TRAVELS
A man was so large-bodied he had to buy two seats on his recent flight. The kicker? The airline gave him seats in different aisles. The man booked his flight early and got on the plane only to then find out the situation. He was all about having to buy two seats, just didn’t know how he’d make seats in two different aisles work.
Eddie traveled to Wichita, KS this weekend with Lunchbox. He took notes of all the differences there were in traveling alone with Bobby and traveling alone with Lunchbox.
5. With Bobby...the gang turns in early. With Lunchbox, they are up all night.
4. With Bobby, they eat when they can, which is not often. With Lunchbox, they stopped whatever they were doing to eat (Up to 5 times a day).
3. With Bobby, a lot of people want to see him and take pictures. With Lunchbox, only about a tenth of people want to stop and take pictures.
2. Everyone wants a pic with Bobby. Everyone wants a shot with Lunchbox.
1. Being with Bobby means never getting drunk. Being with Lunchbox means staying buck-wild.
It’s obvious, traveling with these two separately is like experiencing night and day.
Nolan from Tulsa, OK called in to play a little country trivia. Here was his question.
Q- Where did Blake Shelton propose to Miranda Lambert?
A) At Miranda Lambert’s home in Texas
B) On stage
C) In the woods
D) At the 2010 ACM’s
Lunchbox said after the ACM’s in 2010. Amy said at Miranda’s home in Texas. Nolan sided with Lunch. After the break, the answer was revealed to be in the woods. Oh darn, sorry Nolan...no prize today! Thanks for playing though!
90 SECOND SKINNY
Shia Labeouf was kicked in the groin and attacked by a bystander. Two girls were throwing up on the side of the road and Shia was filming them. The two girls asked him to please stop filming, but he continued. So, a bystander beat him up. It always seems like that Shia is getting into trouble.
George Strait sold out five shows for his 2014 leg of his “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour” with 30 minutes. Even though this is his last tour, he said he was always continue to make music.
BILLY GETS CRAZY ON TWITTER
Billy Currington released a series of “crazy” tweets Friday night that were unrelatable and made the reader keep guessing. Bobby said he’s done some crazy stuff on sleeping pills before so he's giving Billy the benefit of the dubt. Regardless, the tweets are hilarious.
WHAT YEAR WAS IT!?
Bobby from Ohio called in to play “What Year Was It!?”
SONG- Jesus, Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood
MOVIE- Pride & Prejudice
NEWS- Eminem enters rehab for an addiction to sleeping aids
Amy and Bobby guessed 2006. Lunchbox guessed 2005. Caller Bobby guessed 2006 as well. Unfortunately, it was 2005. Oh well, thanks for your call Bobby.
BOBBY’S MOVIE REVIEW
Bobby talked about the movie, “Captain Phillips,” he and the interns went and saw on their double date the other night. Apparently, the movie was good and all, but it was just a little long. Amy wondered why the movie was so long if it was just about a captain getting captured. Leave it to Bobby to comeback with a “Castaway” reference. That was such a good movie. WILSON!!!
BEAR ATTACK GETS CRAZY
Over the weekend, a man was attacked by a bear but got away. The crazy part? He grabbed the bear’s tongue and yanked it wildly until the bear retreated. I guess if playing dead doesn’t work, playing dentist will.
THE TIPPING CONTROVERSY
Lunchbox was up in arms over “complimentary” services that seem to require tip. Lunchbox had used some valet services over the weekend and was bewildered as to why he needed to tip if the service was complimentary. Phone girl Sydney talked about the experience and how she and Eddie had to tip for Lunchbox. The gang then discussed what kind of services deserved and didn’t deserve gratuitous gestures. I guess everyone has their own opinion.
DOES BOBBY GET NERVOUS!?
Bobby read some comments over the weekend on whether or not thought he was nervous when interviewing Taylor Swift on Friday. Bobby said he gets more excited than nervous when he interviews people he’s excited about. He discussed how he doesn’t want to meet certain people in fear that he will not like them or that they’ll be jerks. The gang shared some personal stories about their interview experiences with people such as Nick Lachey (Amy’s interview) and 50 Cent (Lunchbox’s interview). Thankfully, everyone said the people they interview are usually 99% awesome experiences. Whew, good to know.
CODY TALKS ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT
Taylor Swift had some dating advice for Random Kid Cody and Intern Sarah the other day when she was on the show. Taylor told Cody to take her to Cheekwood, a place with many lights and such. Well, the cute little couple went and decided that it was most definitely NOT their thing. Cody said that Sarah told him to give it some time. After a little bit of a walkthrough, the lovebirds decided it would’ve been better had they taken Lunchbox’s suggestion and gone to BINGO.
TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD
A couple on a cruise in the Virgin Islands heard someone screaming for help in the middle of the night. Well, the couple alerted the captain who then made the decision to go back and ended up finding three men whose boat had capsized 10 hours before the couple heard them. Thank goodness for the couple not rolling over and going back to bed.
A 72 year old man has been found after being stranded in the national forest. He went hiking alone and slipped and injured himself yet survived for 18 days. Someone finally found him and took him back to safety.
Twenty-six Newtown residents are training to run 26 miles for the victims and the families of Sandy Hook. The runners have been training all this time and are likely to raise up to $10,000.
RANDOM KID CODY TALKS HIS DOUBLE-DATING EXPERIENCE
Cody talked about his double date experience and said it went extremely well. However, when Lunchbox found out Bobby paid for everything (Including Cody & Sarah’s expenses), he was not happy. Lunch felt he needed to pay for it if he wanted to impress his girl. Bobby told him that the interns work for free and they shouldn’t have had to worry about it. He said Cody wanted to look nice and bought new clothes for the date so Bobby treated him to the rest of the date. All in all, the date was great and their is probably another in the near future for those cute little interns.
Two roommates accidentally set fire to their apartment while playing beer pong. The ping pong ball the roommates were playing with formed a dent. They set the ball on fire to send it out in great fashion, but it ended up catching the apartment on fire. Wow, bad day for those guys!!
BOBBY TAKES A CALL & TALKS ABOUT RADIO
Christine called in to chat with Bobby about her experience when she met her personal idol, Oprah. She talked about how it was a marvelous experience and everything she hoped it would be and more. Bobby then expressed again his nervousness to interview people he really respects because he doesn’t want them to be jerks. He then talked with the gang about people calling him “The Oprah of Country Radio.” He said he feels the reason people like coming in is because people on the show keep it real. TRUTH!! Here’s to Bobby being the “Oprah of Country Radio.”
LOCAL CHARITY CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT
Bobby talked about a charity event that is being thrown. A girl named Cassandra has cancer and the benefit is being thrown to help raise money to help pay for her medical bills. Some of the artists that are included in the lineup are Jerrod Niemann, Gloriana, Lee Brice, and THE RAGING IDIOTS!! Bobby is beyond excited. Charlie Worsham even gave Bobby a call over the weekend and said he wanted to get involved. Did Eddie get a little worried that he might get phased out. Maybe! But we’d never do that.
BOBBY TELLS A “GROWN-UP” STORY
Bobby told a little bit of a grown up story surrounding some of the craziest things firefighters have to respond to. That, plus the recent news about the “50 Shades of Grey” craziness of people trying weird stuff out made an interesting story. Let’s just say, the weird stuff included a toaster and a vacuum. Hmm, we will leave the rest to your imagination. Yikes!!
HUNTER HAYES’ NEW SONG
Bobby is all about sharing new music or new songs that he really enjoys. The latest is the new Hunter Hayes tune that Jason Mraz guest starred on called, “Everybody’s Got Somebody (But Me).” Amy said that even she turned it up and was singing along by the end of the tune when she first heard it. Go give it a listen and see for yourselves.
EDDIE TALKS DRINKING W/ LUNCHBOX
Bobby called out Eddie about his drinking with Lunchbox over the weekend. Apparently, Eddie said he wasn’t going to drink as much and Bobby called, “BS” on that. Well, from the sounds of his hangover story, Eddie has learned his lesson.
END OF SHOW
Bobby ended the show talking about his relationships and playing Hunter Hayes’ new song once again. He asked around about the gang’s love life and if they were indeed as lonely as he was. It turns out, everyone else is pretty much taken. I guess the new Hunter Hayes’ song can be Bobby’s new theme song until he finds love. Maybe the mystery date from the double date the other night will turn into love. Who knows!!
And with that, the show is over.
See everyone tomorrow!!
