Account Executive

Clear Channel Austin, TX is always looking for incredible additions to our sales force.

Prospect, market, sell and service advertising air time and non-spot revenue.  Negotiate business based on industry ratings in order to maximize station revenue and share within parameters set by station management.  Achieve revenue and share goals set by Sales Manager.  Develop new advertisers by soliciting area businesses.  Service clients to maintain positive working relationships.  Prepare sales orders and production requests in timely manner.  Resolve billing discrepancies and assist in collections of past due accounts.  Provide regular reports to Sales Manager regarding prospective sales orders, daily call sheets, itineraries, new prospect lists, forecasts, and competition analysis.  Monitor competitive media to continually prospect for new account leads.  Follow station/company practices/policies for processing, invoicing, calculation of sales.  Adhere to minimum standards of performance as established by Sales Manager.  Develop account list from various sources.  Conceive and execute written proposals.

College education preferred.  Background in related media sales with a minimum of two years' experience.  Outstanding marketing/presentation skills.  Strong organizational skills.  Must possess understanding of ratings services.  Conversant in radio broadcasting vocabulary.  Computer literate.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations relating to advertising copy.  Strong interpersonal skills.

Onsite Event Producer
  • Part time
  • Entry level position
  • Weekends required
  • Starting hourly wage: Minimum Wage
  • Prefer students enrolled in college, majoring in RTF, public relations or related degree programs.
    Requirements:
  • Must be able to work 10-25 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule is a must
  • Attend weekly and staff meetings (Monday @ 7 p.m.)
  • Able to work weekends, some early mornings or late nights
  • Must have satisfactory driving records with a valid Texas driver’s license
  • Regular lifting of massive weights
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of 6 stations formats and personality line ups
  • Heavy interest in learning about radio industry

    Function:
  • The onsite event producer is part of a two-person event team that executes and sets up radio station remotes or appearances. Each event requires the team to set up station equipment, inflatable tents, tables, PA equip, station vehicle and then conduct an onsite game or activity that will create interest and fun for listeners and spectators.
  • The role of the onsite event producer is to act as the “host” (of the party); meeting and greeting listeners and implementing an onsite activity while awarding prizes. They must also ensure that the station banners are hung and set up to meet onsite standards.
    Duties:
  • Adhere to dress code
  • Greet and meet listeners (say hi to everyone)
  • Play a game (almost like a show host)
  • Set up tent / table
  • Set up PA equipment
  • Hang banners
  • Greet clientele
  • Set up food and soft drinks

  • Remote Engineer
  • Starting hourly wage: $7.25
  • Weekends required
  • Prefer folks strongly interested in radio with proven technical experience or experience having set up audio or public address equipment. The candidate must also be able to function as an onsite coordinator for remote abilities.
    Requirements:
  • Must be able to work 20-30 hours per week
  • Maintain a flexible schedule
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
  • Able to work all weekends, early mornings and some weekdays.
  • Must have a clean driving record and able to drive large station trucks with a valid Texas driver’s license
  • Regular lifting of massive weights
  • Have working knowledge of all 6 Clear Channel Radio Austin stations: their formats and on air line up
    Qualifications / Skills:
  • Some experience setting up PA equipment

    Function:
  • To act as a leader of a two-person team to execute and implement successful radio station remotes and onsite events or appearances. The remote engineer’s primary role is to ensure proper set up and operation of remote equipment and PA system, while leading and guiding the event.
  • The remote engineer also will interact with the onsite event producer to act as “host of the event”, greeting listeners and engaging them in activity. It is the duty of the R.E. to ensure proper set up, location, take care of equipment and products as well as station vehicle, tents and other accessories.
    Duties:
  • Drive station vehicles
  • Interface with clientele and air staff
  • Acts as leader of event
  • Pack vehicle based on checklist
  • Responsible for all needed materials being onsite
  • Set up and trouble shoot broadcast equipment for each event
  • Oversee and care for broadcast equipment and accessories
  • Set up and cuts, tables and other event equipment
  • Greet listeners
  • Assist onsite Event Producer and act as a team
  • Responsible for overall success of event
  • Take an active role in pre-planning and site checking an event and its location
  • Take an active interest in upholding and implementing standards
